Mike Pringle

Mike experienced Executive Coaching himself during his seven year stint as a Purchasing Director at United Biscuits (UB). This stimulated his interest in personal development. In 2013 he passed his Diploma in Executive Coaching with merit from the Association of Executive Coaching (AoEC). His particular field of interest is working with his clients to address the challenges of the VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex & ambiguous) world we live in today. He joined BTS Coach (https://www.bts.com/coaching) as an associate Executive Coach in 2016. Through its research and data-driven approach (analysing over 120,000+ coaching conversations since 2005), BTS Coach has created practical tools to offer scalable coaching. These tools fall under its Twelve Shift coaching model. The research revealed that the most significant and meaningful change in all of us happens, not when we learn a new behaviour or tactic but, when we change our attitude to something or adopt a new mindset. Twelve Shifts allows each coach to identify and work on the attitudinal or mindset change that will have the greatest impact in each and every client engagement. For example, when it comes to stakeholder engagement, the activity of influencing others that challenges many procurement professionals, it’s important to develop a mindset and awareness of “Other people’s worlds are different to mine”; this mindset impacts on having the flexibility and empathy to deal differently with, and influence, different people. Mike has coached clients across multiple functions at organisations such as BP, Deutsche Bank, Parkinsons UK, Pearson, Rentokil, Save the Children & Wessanen.
