Holger Carlsson brings over 30 years of hands-on supply chain, procurement and risk management experience across global organisations. As Managing Director, VP and Programme Manager at IKEA, he developed and led procurement organisations spanning Europe and North America, earning the Six Sigma Process Improvement Programme of the Year for the 'Supply Quality from Factory to Home' programme, saving more than €200M per year and still in operation across all IKEA stores and warehouses globally. He subsequently founded his own supply chain consultancy and served as Section and Service Chief at the United Nations, where he designed and implemented the UN's supply chain operational guidance for all field missions, tribunals and offices worldwide. In 2021, Holger co-authored a formal response to the US Federal Reserve, FDIC and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on proposed interagency guidance for third-party risk management, together with Dr Bob Mark, co-author of 'The Essentials of Risk Management' and Managing Partner at Black Diamond Risk Enterprises. Their joint submission introduced a quantitative supply chain risk methodology covering priority critical risks, stress testing scenarios and mitigation budgeting across multi-tier supplier structures. Holger is currently serving as Senior Advisor Business Development EMEA with Rapid Ratings.
