AB InBev is Looking to Startups to Strengthen Supply Chains

06/07/2022

To help make supply chains more resilient for the future, AB InBev knew it needed to find the best and brightest minds around.

This is what led the international beverage producer to launch its Sustainable Supply Chain Challenge which allowed six startups from around the world to take to the virtual stage and demonstrate how their solutions to build a more resilient and sustainable supply chain can become a reality.

“The challenge was designed to bring together sustainability-minded companies from across the startup ecosystem to create a community focused on achieving the shared sustainability goals of AB InBev and the 100+ Accelerator,” said Global Innovation Manager of the Beer Garage, AB InBev's technology innovation hub in Tel Aviv, Israel, Amy Cohen-Dagan. “We are extremely proud of the results and believe together we can make a positive impact on the supply chain long-term.”

90 applications were whittled down to just six, from which two finalists were selected - Mi Terro, which upcycles and engineers agricultural waste into a plastic alternative biomaterial, and Hello Tractor, a Kenya-based IoT platform designed to help farm equipment owners, dealers, banks, and farmers run smarter, better maintained, and profitable tractors.

Ab InBev also announced that ten other startups would have the opportunity to collaborate in an effort to make supply chains more sustainable and resilient.
