Gartner and GenZ are Driving Supply Chain Digital Transformation
With GenZ now taking up a significant portion of the global workforce, they are driving massive change when it comes to the digital transformation of procurement and other supply chain industries.
GenZ are the first generation of digital natives – humans that have grown up with digital technology as a permanent part of their lives – and they are going to naturally bring that familiarity into any role they enter. Even TikTok is getting in on the action by building a job search site specifically for this tech-savvy demographic.
Pierfrancesco Manenti, Vice President Analyst with the Gartner Supply Chain practice, says “This generation has grown up with digital technologies, so today’s supply chain leaders expect them to be innovators that accelerate supply chain digitalisation and pave the way towards hyper automation.”
Hyper automation represents a coalescence of technology-based innovations such as automation, robotics, AI, IoT, virtual and augmented reality and more. These technologies can be used to quickly identify and research areas of human-based work and, where necessary, automate those processes.
Gartner is getting out in front of this trend by actively seeking GenZers for job opportunities and scooping up the best talent this uniquely placed generation has to offer.
