Lenzing Group is Winning Awards for CSR
EcoVadis has recently awarded Austrian cellulosic fibre producer, Lenzing Group its platinum award for corporate social responsibility.
The assessment carried out before the awards are decided includes an evaluation of each organisation’s working conditions, human rights commitment, environmental impact, as well as ethics and procurement sustainability.
Lenzing managed to achieve the gold award in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and, thanks to improvements made throughout its operations, has finally achieved the ultimate platinum standard, something the Austrian brand is incredibly proud of.
“We are very proud to have made the step to platinum after several gold ratings in recent years,” said Lenzing Group CEO, Stefan Doboczky. “At Lenzing, we always think beyond fibres and take responsibility for our children and grandchildren, for whom we do our best to continuously improve. This attitude is part of our strategic principles, and we will continue to work hard to make a sustainable contribution to the environment and society.”
The changes made by Lenzing Group which have led to them being granted platinum status include a commitment reducing CO2 emissions per tonne of product by 50% by 2030 and becoming completely climate-neutral by 2050 – a target which has been validated via independent assessment by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
