AB InBev is Deploying Data to Manage Its World Class Talent Portfolio
As we are all aware by this point, data is the lifeblood which keeps modern global industry moving – and talent management is no exception.
As one of the world’s largest producers of alcoholic beverages and responsible for some of its best-known drink brands, AB InBev understands that having the very best people working behind the scenes is one of the most important ingredients to a successful business. This is why AB InBev has been devoting time and resources to make its HR department a data driven machine and has already seen two significant benefits from the endeavour – management has greater power to conduct its role effectively and decision making has become far more agile and strategic.
By combining its blocks of data into meaningful and insightful points of reference, AB InBev can see at a glance how well individuals in their teams performed at tasks, and easily track skill developments. Powerful AI and machine learning technology has seen the accuracy of these assessments rise from just 50% to a staggering 92%.
“When HR at AB InBev started to procure and process more data, it could pinpoint exactly why a certain decision would work when a different one wouldn’t,” said AB InBev Global Vice President for People Continuity, Toon van der Veer. “By handling data well, HR had information to hand that could be embedded into its key decision-making.”
